Subject Composition

  • Authentic Composition principles emphasize that subjects should be presented naturally without staging or manipulation.

Image Composition

  • Images must not be altered through editing software or AI to add or remove objects that materially change their natural composition.

Intent

  • The purpose of these principles is to ensure transparency and authenticity in the artist’s photographic process without discouraging other photographic methods.​​

Photographers following these principles are encouraged to disclose they adhere to the principles of Authentic Composition in their artist statements or photo descriptions.
